The thickness of the diaphragm is generally 0.2mm to 0.6mm.

The diaphragm coupling achieves flexible transmission of the coupling by generating elastic deformation through thinner stainless steel sheets, allowing the coupling to absorb the misalignment and impact of the transmission shafts on both sides. The torque is input from the active end half coupling and transmitted to the diaphragm group through the main transmission torque bolts arranged at circumferential intervals. Then, the diaphragm group transmits the torque to the intermediate section through bolts, and it is also output by the diaphragm group, bolts, and the driven end half coupling at the other end.

The shape of the diaphragm mainly includes circular ring type, wheel amplitude type, connecting rod type, multilateral type, and waist type. Inaccurate selection of diaphragm couplings with high torque can sometimes lead to short service life or damage to the diaphragm. When the transmitted torque is large, considering that the shell and connecting rod should have sufficient comprehensive mechanical performance, the coupling function can be achieved through the micro rolling of the steel ball to compensate for the position deviation between the motor shaft and the pump shaft.

When there is a positional deviation between the input and output shafts, the axial position of the transmission shaft will undergo a slight rotation, driving the steel ball to perform a slight rolling in the slide of the outer shell. The workpiece has a higher toughness and a higher surface. In order to improve the material properties, the surface is blackened. After blackening treatment, torque is transmitted and micro rolling is performed, resulting in sufficient toughness and surface hardness.
